even if it does, you just do it all again

yes, i am very excited to have received offer letters and to leave the country, but not for the reasons that everyone thinks. that everyone think? thinks? something's wrong with that sentence, but nevermind.

no, i don't hate the country. i don't hate the weather. i'm not in the least bit anxious to be away from my parents, my sister or any other member of my family. i'm a terribly awkward person and meeting new people is generally a process that i wish was over faster.

i'm excited because leaving the country gives me something to work towards, if that makes sense to anyone else reading this. anyone who knows me will know that i am a super procrastinator and, if given the chance, for example, i could wait up till the day before i'm supposed to leave before i start packing. of course, that's not gonna happen with my mom around, thankfully. but as i said, knowing that i'm leaving is just that extra bit of (for lack of a better word) motivation for me to meet up with the people important to me that i won't be seeing for awhile. much like how christmas is supposed to be the time to tell people how you feel, leaving seems to be a pretty good time to get things out as well. or i might end up not saying/doing anything at all, staying in character of being somewhat unable to sincerely express emotion, even when it's genuine. we'll see how things go ;)

on a slightly different note though, there're a ton of things that i'm so sure i'm gonna miss cos i've already kinda started. i thought it was appropriate to start the list off with:

the beagle absolutely rules the house. she IS the cutest member. she's just about the smartest dumb dog or the dumbest smart dog ever...or she's putting on an act. i won't forget the time my dad and i couldn't find her and suspected she'd cabut-ed eventhough all our doors and gates were shut. after much confused searching, we found her standing behing the closed door of the upstairs bathroom. she's since made many ventures around the house, nudging things over/open, leaving an obvious trail of destruction.

apparently her face and the white-tip on her tail are too long, her ears are too big and there's no denying she doesn't have a prominent waist and basically, she'd never win in a dog show. but doesn't make a difference at all.
we put up with her immense stubborness, cow-likeness and new-found greed because there's almost nothing better than coming home to a beagle who looks happy to see you.
